Fashion Business Online Networking Session (June 2021: Footwear)

Join us for an hour-long online live networking session to discuss topics surrounding the sustainable and ethical developments in footwear.

For our 2021 Masterclasses, we are diving into specific topics within fashion, and one we have yet to cover in depth is footwear. As always we take a holistic look at the innovations, research and brand case studies to provide you guidance and advice should you be developing your own range or label.

What?

Our new format live sessions aim to provide creative entrepreneurs and those interested in fashion production issues a space to chat with one another. There will be a 10 minute introduction into the key issues within the sustainability and ethics of the footwear industry, with two 15 minute sessions in breakout rooms to discuss a specific topic. We will have 10 minutes at the end of each session to give feedback and converse as a group.

• Introduction to theme: sustainable and ethical developments in footwear (10 minutes)
• Breakout room #1 (15 minutes)
• Feedback discussion #1 (10 minutes)
• Breakout room #2 (15 minutes)
• Feedback discussion #2 and close (10 minutes)

Our topics will include: circularity, bio-based materials, the role of big players, craftsmanship and the role of small designers.

This is a new format, so we will welcome feedback at the end of the session. Please come with an open-mind and a notebook.

Video is not essential, though is preferred to create a cosy atmosphere. We will only record the group segments for our own replay, and it will not be streamed live.

Moderated by both Charlie Bradley Ross, director of Offset Warehouse and The Sustainable Fashion Collective, and Stephanie Steele, the business' marketing and fabric guru.
