Not for profit organisation The Sustainable Angle are committed to minimising the environmental impact of the fashion and textiles industries and society. Their aim is to make it easier for companies, institutions and individuals, to make better informed decisions when it comes to sustainability.

The Future Fabrics Expo gathers together a selection of the most innovative sustainable fabrics and producers.

"The Future Fabrics Expo focuses on how fashion’s environmental impact can be lowered through textile innovation, and novel ideas to transform the fashion system and design practice."

There will be 1,500 individually sourced fabrics and leathers which all have a reduced environmental impact. They are sourced from dozens of international mills and suppliers and we're lucky enough to be one of them. It is the largest and most diverse showcase of commercially available sustainable materials in the industry, plus there will be extensive background information on sustainability in fashion and textiles, and the latest textile and processing innovations. All areas of the market are catered for.

What's on?

Another hot tip if you're going is definitely to check out one (or a few) of their 30 minutes seminars running throughout the 2 days. There will be speakers from GOTS, The Sustainable Apparel Coalition and the Textile Exchange to name but a few. You can see the programme of events here.

What Will Be There?

We're showing off innovative fibres such as our Recycled Polyester Satin made from recycled plastic bottles. The fabric's raw material derives from post-consumer sources and does not contain anything obtained directly from a manufacturing process. Also, did you know it's waterproof and it's reversible, it's super soft on one side with a matt finish and has a more traditional satin other side.

Or if you like something a bit more traditional our gorgeous selection of hand-woven ikats will be on show. They are completely hand dyed and hand-woven in northern Thailand using virtually no electricity.
