In conversation with Unseen, the anti-slavery organisation that combats all forms of modern slavery
Unseen is a charity that supports survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking by operating safehouses in the southwest and running the Modern Slavery & Exploitation Helpline. They aim to create a world free from slavery using three strategies: supporting survivors, raising awareness of the issues, and influencing legislation. In this interview, we got a glimpse behind the scenes of the fight against modern slavery with one of the charities at the forefront of the movement, to begin to understand the complexities of the issues and how to combat it ourselves.
In this interview, you'll learn:
- What modern slavery is
- About the Leicester textile workers' case
- How people find themselves in situations of exploitation or slavery
- The impact of the war in Ukraine
